Q. I can't see the stream. What can I do?
A: Right click
here and choose save target as or save link as to save this file somewhere on your harddrive. Using the explorer, right click on smc_tech_demo.asx and choose to open with Windows Media Player.
Q. How exactly do I change the channels?
A: In order to change the TV channels on the server you need SMC Remote Chat. You can download it from
here. After launching the application, go to Settings and input your nickname. In the presets dropdown choose the server that you want to use. Press Close and then Connect. After you are connected to the server, click the List button. In order to change the channel, right click the channel that you want and choose /callvote. If the majority of the other users agree then the channel will be changed. Please note that you will see the effect after a few seconds due to the buffering system.
Q. Can I record live content using SMC Remote Chat?
A: Yes. You can record a favorite TV show, or a football game using the /rec command. After sending the stop command (/stop) to the SMC server via SMC Remote Chat you can download your file using any FTP client. Please note that it is your responsability to delete the file after you are done and to not abuse the system. Doing so, will eventually lead to the disabling of this feature.
Q. Will I get the same quality and features after registering SMC?
A: No. You will get
much more! You will be able to change TV channels and start/stop recording directly from your mobile phone. SMC is not "just" a streaming server, it has tons of other major features such as file compression and converting, DVD playback, tv-card viewing and many more. Please consult the

Q. I am having some problems with the other users connected to the SMC Remote Chat. What can I do?
A: Please report any abuse on our discussion

Q. Why do we all have to see the same TV channel at one given time?
A: A conventional tv-card cannot display two or more TV channels at one given time no more than your TV set can. This is a hardware limitation beyound our control.
Q. I am using a proxy to access the internet. I can see the video stream, but I can't connect with SMC Remote Chat. What can I do?
A: Unfortunatly SMC Remote Chat doesn't support proxies at the current time. Please check back in the future to see if this feature has been implemented.
